Woot has a new Yukon-Outfitters item. It is an Underquilt at just under $50. They also have a top quilt as well as some hammocks and bugscreens. Here is a link to the underquilt and topquilt. http://sport.woot.com/offers/yukon-o...=sp_cnt_wp_0_6

How much does the UQ weigh?
I THINK the video there said 29oz. May be a bit heavy for backpacking but I know I don't hike very far these days and lots of others don't have to worry about weight as much as others.
In the other thread started this morning about them someone found that the UQ's weigh in at 1 pound 8 ounces. It looks a lot like a ENO Ember clone...most likely the same Chinese sweat shop.

It does look exactly like an ENO ember 2, which doesn't exactly have the greatest reputation around here.
At $50, it's cheap enough, but I don't see any reason why you'd pick it over a Snugpak, and for a little more money you can have a Jarbidge which would be a much nicer quilt.
I love seeing cheap options for insulation though. One of the reasons hammock camping isn't as popular I feel, is because it can be pretty expensive. A tent camper can get a cheap tent and cheap sleeping bag, and have fun, a hammock camper often sees prices of $250 for a TQ, $250 for an UQ, and might get discouraged.
+1 for Jarbidge. It'll make you feel warm and happy
I agree it can be cheap, just on the surface, it does not appear to be. It's harder to find budget gear for hammocking, especially when it comes to insulation, which is why I always like seein affordable options, even if they aren't exactly the best ideas, I like seeing options.
