First Time Hiking and Hammock Camping with my Daughter

Here's a recent trip I took with my daughter who insisted we go hiking and hammock camping. We headed up to Springer for what was going to be a weekend trip but her imagination got the best of her once the sun set.

Your daughter is a card! Glad to see I'm not the only person who loses things in my pack, too. Nice set of gear you chose as well. Quilts looked toasty.

Fun video. My 9-yo has been hammock camping with me in the backyard this month and wants to spread her wings on a trail, maybe a little later in spring.

We rescued him from a shelter summer. Great with other hikers, doesn't bark and listens well.

That's awesome. In retrospect I probably should have not watched "When bears attack!" with her.

Yes, I try to shield her fertile mind from seeds like that. Right when we bedded down last weekend an emergency vehicle's siren went off on the highway a few miles away which set off the coyotes - I told her they were just the neighbors' dogs. She was dubious, but went to sleep. Until the owl started hooting.
