Looking to do a loop around the Stone Memorial / Big Hill shelters. Anyone have info on those areas? Snow, no snow, etc...

I don't know what the snow situation is, but it's pretty easy hiking. I've stayed at Stone Memorial a couple of times.

Thanks, George. We've been up there before but on the AT at the northern end. Just doing an easier winter trip. Although, anything is easier after doing the Devil's Path!

Who knows about snow that far out. Right now I wouldnt expect much if any, reports from the Catskills are only saying 2-3 INCHES on the summits, but lots of ice. Id probably just bring micro spikes. One good storm between now and then and things could change dramatically. That area in NY hasnt seen much snow at all this year, I think S NJ has gotten more actually.

Hah. I'm sure you did. We made a big rookie mistake on that one. Had terrible weather, but what a trip. Want to do it again in better weather.

Thanks for the advice. We've been up there before; just wanted to get some reports before we left. You're right, I think we have gotten more!

Is there a trip report on this? I'd like to hear more about it. The wife and I did the whole Devil's Path this past New Year's weekend. It was a great trip for us.

Sorry, I haven't been to Harriman yet this year, to give a current condition report.

There is not... but I will get one up with the video we made from the trip. We weren't able to get a ton of footage because of the weather but I think it came out ok. I'll post back once it's up.
