Awesome. Thanks.
Like I said above... I use what I've got. I pay absolutely no attention to thickness numbers or any of that stuff. I use high quality thread, often what the wife has lying around and frequently colors that don't match the project. If it is a mostly used spool it is fair game for my machine. For those people who live and die statistics... then PapaSmurf is as good a reference as any in my book.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.
"Bless you child, when you set out to thread a needle don't hold the thread still and fetch the needle up to it; hold the needle still and poke the thread at it; that's the way a woman most always does, but a man always does t'other way."

Bobbin Tension - A Personal Viewpoint
I just looked what I've paid on Ebay Germany for my last kingspool of 2400m Tera 80 black. It was
4.90 Euro + shipping.
If I order 200m Gütermann Sew All thread from extremtextil I have to pay 3.80 Euro for one little spool. 12 x 200m = 2400m -> 12 x 3.80 = 45.60 Euro + shipping.
45.60/4.90 = 930% is a big difference and I know already how much thread I need for a hammock, a tarp and two quilts. 800m go fast into my projects.
If PapaSmurf would pay such high retail prices he would make a big loss with his hammocks, imo.
However, 874 yards of Tera 80 for $3,75 is imo a fair price already.

What about this? compared to Sew-All?
This is mara 70 tex 40 dtex 400(3). Recommended needle size #14-#16
https://www.guetermann.com/shop/en/v...roduct=mara_70
It's a bit stronger than Tera 80 but not as strong as Tera 60.
