Cool The Tacblades Palace Bug System

A friend of mine wanted a complete system, so made a 11ft hexon1.0 hammock, nottys, whoopies, shackles, huggers.
Now for the bug net it had to be more functional and comfort compared to weight saving.
So this is the Tacblades Palace

It is 570g but does take the place of a bugnet, winter sock, and under quilt protector all in one.
Its a complete tube of nano noseem, and a 40D tough ripstop breathable with impregnation DWR.

First mode it just normal bug net, with underquilt protection.

Then you can pull the ends in for a bit more protection at the head and foot end.

Then if the wind gets up you can just rotate the cover to block it out, here rotated towards the back.

Then if you want a bit more warmth, block out swirling wind or just have a bit more cover just rotate it round more.

and anything in between for fine adjustment.
So very functional, very large space inside, lots of room underneath for underquilt and no compression etc.
All seams are flat felled seams.

    Cheers

That's ingenious and well thought out, you're killing it with your projects and videos lately. Not sure I'd want it on my back, but I'd take it 7 days a week for car camping.

Excellent idea and implementation and not all that heavy. How easy is it to rotate around?

Quite easy to rotate, from the inside with cinch close,
but easier with the cinches open still from inside.

I have another idea for the next one, perhaps a shaped complete bug net for the weight saving, then on the seams put kam snaps, and have a rectangle of DWR fabric that you can then pop on to any part of the bug net, underneath for protection or on the back for wind etc. should be about half the weight and more modular. Could have a few rectangles for more coverage if needed.

Nice idea, and anything with KAM snaps gets a +1. Love those things.
