The plan is to car camp. A few of us planned to go up the weekend of the 15th to scout the area a little and planned to do some backpacking on the cabin loop, so round up a pack and join us for a little recon trip!

Link is not working. Ok just making sure the plans have not changed. will most likely make the scouting trip. what about water?? Aspen spring im guessing we can get water there?
Clean any Info ...
http://hikearizona.com/decoder.php?ZTN=797 try this again. Still planning on car camp group hang at end of month, but yea, love to have you on scouting trip.
Clean, what I would like to know is;
1. Do you plan on doing the full loop or just part of it?
2. Which trails are included?
U-Bar 6.5 miles + Barbershop 4.5 miles + General Crook ~5 miles? + Fred Haught 6 miles = 22 miles
U-Bar 6.5 miles + Barbershop 4.5 miles + Houston Brothers 7 miles = 18 miles
Houston Brothers 7 miles + General Crook ~5 miles? + Fred Haught 6 miles = 18 miles
3. Are you planning to camp on the trail and splitting the hike into two pieces, or to do the whole hike on Saturday?
Thanks.

Sorry for the late response. I've been super-busy.
I had recommended the eastern half of the cabin loop for the recon mission, parking near the Pinchot Cabin and traveling clockwise on UBar, Barbershop and Houston Brother's trails. Here's my map of the area. http://caltopo.com/m/232H
My vote would be for spending one night out, either before the turn from UBar onto Barbershop or perhaps a bit later on Barbershop near the green GPS markers I dropped on my last trip.
I think we should call the rangers a week out to verify but I understand that the water is always reliable at Dane Spring and Aspen Spring. I'd be surprised if we did not find water in Barbershop Canyon which the route crosses twice.
FYI The road closure map has not been updated yet. I'll try to take a minute and call tomorrow and get an update from the rangers.

I took a look at the weather report. They are still expecting rain/snow next weekend. Looks like it may be nice and chilly.
