    Tarp ..on or below ridgeline

    I know this is old stuff..but I'm new !!!! Does it hurt tarp on top of ridgeline..seems to hold tarp better ???? Thanks

    When I posted this same question, it was stated that it doesn't hurt the tarp to have the Ridgeline under there tarp but it was the general consensus that it is better above the tarp. The reasons were that if it rains the water on the Ridgeline will run down the Ridgeline under the tarp and drip off at he lowest point. And while it doesn't hurt the tarp under the Ridgeline, it may cause abrasion over time.

    If you put the ridgeline under the tarp, there is the chance of wear, leaks, etc. When I first got my HG CF tarp, I ran the ridgeline under the tarp and the seam started catching on the ridgeline. After that, I put the ridgeline over the tarp. There's no chance of wear that way.

    I also don't have a ridgeline. I use to Stingerz from Dutch that clip onto the d-rings, loop around the tree right back to the Stingerz. I love it.
