Hey gang,

Looking for a little feed back and input from the masses. I have been working hard over the past few months to update photos throughout the store and feel like I have been getting some good shots of products to help illustrate their form and function. However I would appreciate a critical eye to help be sure that it is clear and concise what you are looking at. I would appreciate any feed back and especially info like "X product is ? and used for ?, the photos don't tell me ABC about it." My hope is that a totally new to hammock camping person can hop on the store and get a good idea of what we offer.

I just spent some time on your site! This may sound silly, but I love pictures of people actually in a hammock. Like the one above, it gives you an idea of how to lay in a hammock. It's not just a pad or something. My new self so many years ago always wanted an "action shot" to familiarize myself with the product.

My $0.02 - I'd put all of the studio shots on the white seamless background, so long as it's not white. On the carabiners and stakes, I'd focus about a third of the way in instead of halfway in, or increase the depth of field. My eyes want to focus on a closer product. The contextual shots are superb. Overall, they all look really good. Product photography is not at all easy.

Thanks Rick. I agree some stuff really needs demoed to be able to see how it works. Slowly I have been working to add Youtube videos to product pages for those that need a little more step by step hands on demos. That's a hole other ball game than the photos and a good bit of time for each one.....I prefer to have a good looking video than one thrown together in 5 minutes in the corner of the shop or the back yard.

I don't know what the gated mitten hook is standing on but it looks sharp and not something I'd want near my hammock or quilts.

I agree about the white backgrounds....the struggle is that some items just disappear on white.....perhaps I should reorganize all of the white backgrounds grouped together and the ones that "need" the black together....make it flow more in groups rather than one to the next.

That's what I figured but it struck me as molding flash or something unfinished. probably doesn't help the glue is metallic in color.
