Last trip i used my walkabout on we had a storm blow through in middle of the night. Thunder woke me up in time to pull the sides down low ( i had them up high for the view). Had some serious blowing rain for a bit and stayed nice and dry. My gear underneath my hammock stayed dry as well. My hammock is almost 10 1/2 ft long and i always had plenty of coverage.

I rock a Yukon diamond tarp, they work very well. I've never had a problem stuffing it, its tight but no more then a light down sleeping bag or the like. I, how ever got hoseed and paid full price:-( but still its been worth the cash. Using 15 feet ×4 spider line two Easton stacks and some home made speed hooks made from 10 gauge copper wire(sorry dutch made these before I had ever herd of you company) it weighs in at 430 grams. Its never left me wet except for blow under so I got Dutch's sock and solved that problem;-).

I'm planning on taking the Yukon tarp with me for trips with little or no chance or rain, or possibly a small amount expected. If it's going to rain harder, I have a larger tarp I can use.

Generally though if it's going to storm that bad, I probably would just postpone going out, so the Yukon fits my needs well.

Every day is a good day.

So I order my YO fly from woot last night at 11pm. A guy just jumped out of a little black car and dropped it on my doorstep. It's 9pm. I am freaking out here. Are they using fairies to deliver now. Holy cow!

I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.

Here ya go... Woot is sort of a sell off location for Amazon. It offers items at discounts but the number available is limited. When you miss out on an item you need to continue looking at Woot for it to return. Generally when Woot has a sale on Hammock related items someone will post it here. The rain flys are sold out now. But here is the link as there are some hammocks left.
