Dutch sent me new straps and they are perfect ! I had no luck with the first set but this new set is great ! If you want buy a hammock from Dutchware, do it, I sleep in mine every night ! 11 foot half-wit hexon 1.6, I'm really happy with my choice

I shredded the webbing on mine pretty bad with my dutchclips, but I chalk it up 90% to my mistake in how I had it hung. Was using it as a full time bed between moves and had it on a makeshift steel pipe frame that wobbled a bit and caused excess wear. I also pierced the webbing straight through with the end...probably a complete hammocker no-no but I've still been using the webbing with no problems and I'm a big fat guy. I'm just careful to make sure the shredded area isn't "load bearing" if I can avoid it. Should get new straps though I suppose...camping season is coming....

I have been using Dutch Clips on several hammocks for 6 years now with out any signs of wear on the straps. If you are using any cinch buckle you must make sure the webbing goes thru the buckle straight. If the webbing is twisted in the cinch buckle then you will get tears in the webbing. Stiff webbing resist tears better than soft webbing,

I am using camo webbing with 'biners and cinch buckles...many nights over the last year or so. The webbing is lightweight, runs freely in the buckles, and wear is within acceptable limits. The only thing I can think of that would be easier on webbing is descender rings.

I've had mine for over two years. I've probably slept in it a total of 25 nights or so. I've had over 400 lbs in the hammock for about two hours.

I recently picked up some clips and was surprised that the edges weren't more rounded. Frankly they don't inspire confidence; they don't look very finely made. Not really surprised to find this thread and some folks having trouble. Just hoping I fall into the camp that doesn't have problems.

I'm returning a pair of Wasps for a similar reason; a lot more friction on the line than expected and more fiddly to use (Jeff Meyers' toggles are better).

But I should say that the titanium buckles are beautiful. Keeping those.
