Ok gang. It is time to get this in gear. A couple of folks, in the Richmond/Charlottesville area could go with me this weekend to meet with the park people, see our project and show off hammocks (i.e., that we do not drive nails into trees!) I could do this myself but, I just got out of the hospital and my arm is a touch messed up. Actually hanging a hammock would be difficult for me for the next couple of weeks.
Anyone?

Next, we need to get folks started signing up. We have LOTS more spaces this year than we did last and this promises to be a fun hang. Hooah gang! Minnie Soda and I shall be doing some Dutch Oven cooking, as usual and, I am certain, other folks will be chipping in to make this another "feast to remember." Hopefully WITHOUT the "special topping" we had saturday, last year!

I have one other tidbit of, maybe, good news. It is NOT final yet but Minnie Soda and I have signed a contract for a place, in Dinwiddie, with 5, mostly, wooded acres. I have a pre-approval for my VA loan and, so far, everything looks good for the final loan to go through. There is a trail through the property and it is about half and half, hardwood/pine. Parking could be a problem for large hangs. We shall have to have a small hang and see what we can work up too. Hopefully we shall close just before Memorial Day.
We were careful to try to pick a place where we could hold hangs and we are looking forward to our first one there, Lord willing.

Anyway, sign up sheet is out there. Let us get busy on this years PowHaW!

I'd be in for heading out there, but I work on the weekends, so that complicates matters...Which day were you talking about doing this? Thurs or Friday (my days off) would be far easier on me doing this, but I might be able to come out Sat morning for a couple hours before heading back for work.

I had discussed Saturday morning, with the park rangers. They are supposed to get with me this week.

Just FYI, I am throwing in a MSR pot/plate for the silent auction, to start. I shall probably have more by the time of the event. Starting to pack for our move and "things I never use but others might" are beginning to show up. LOL
