    Extra alternative ridgeline tie-outs?

I have learned that almost everything has been dicussed before on here, but I was at a loss for what to put in the search box.
I am in the process of making a 11x10' tarp and got to thinking of a interesting idea.

It started it off when I was lying under a narrow tarp and the wind got up in the night from one side.
I hauled it down as tight as it would go on that side, but it struggled to reach the deck.
The other side was fine and I kept it up in semi porch mode.

It got me to thinking, "If I just had some extra ridge tie-outs, maybe a foot off-centre, so I could have a long side and a short side to my tarp".
The long side could be long enough to pin right down to ground and the short side would be still long enough to keep the weather off (especially if porched).

Is there previous experience out there?

I've seen people do what your talking about with those generic ebay-ish type tarps that have tons of tie outs on each side. Go for it. Dont see a downside to it. Your basically talking about putting tabs to the left and right of the ridgline on both sides at the desired distance, right? A 12x10 tarp would give ya plenty of wiggle room to still have a decent porch and be to the ground with the other side. Would obviously work best on a rectangle style tarp.

Maybe test out the idea with some tato gear style pullouts?

One alternative suggestion if you don't require a lot of vertical movement, run extra long prussic on a CRL. You can have them stretched tight for a high pitch and should you need to hunker down you can move them in and shorten your tie outs thereby lowering the whole tarp. It probably wouldn't move enough to change the porch side significantly. Basically changing you ridgeline from this ---------------- to this ---\======/----
