I use a combo of my:

    Headlamp - http://blackdiamondequipment.com/en_...g.html#start=1

    Lantern - http://blackdiamondequipment.com/en_....html#start=18

    String lights - https://www.rei.com/product/866994/e...d-light-string

The headlamp and lantern are great kit. Never leave home without them.

The string lights are fun and really put off a nice light inside my tarp. I usually string them up on my ridgeline that I have under my tarp.

Looks like he's out of the white ones, though. I don't know why you'd get multi-color unless someone is bringing the chips and salsa!
Not sure if it's exactly the same or not, but we started with these and they were almost offensively bright. Great for tarp edge in porch mode, but hanging out on the ridgeline was almost painful.

I like the Luci lights. I have the version that has several colors. I can use it with red to help keep my night vision. It is frosted so even the other colors aren't too bad for night vision. Been thinking about getting the 3 pack of the frosted white for other uses too. I want to glue a magnet on for extra hood light, jeep light etc

I think a combo of my headlamp and a luci should do the trick.

I use a Snow Peak headlamp which converts to a hanging diffused lantern.

headlamp strapped onto a clear bottle of water gives off a very nice lighting effect.
point the torch into the bottle (i do bottom up) and it acts like a lantern

    Streamlight Siege AA.....bulletproof
Trouble is, I ALWAYS carry my Fenix PD-35. diffuser on the end and clipped to the RL takes care of most of my needs. I use a small pill bottle with a piece of paper at the bottom as a diffuser. And I use the pill bottle cap as a tail stand. And the pill bottle carries my spare 18650 when it's not a diffuser.

I have 4 of these and absolutely love them. I use one for back packing, one for the emergency kit, two around the house for play and power outages.

+1 or 2 or 3.... for the LuminAid. Use mine all the time and it is just great as long as you keep it charged.
