Western Washington Hang/Work Party Planning

At last years hang everyone talked about doing a work weekend up at the coastal property to clear even more hang areas. If people are still interested, how does May sound? We would set up a cook tent and have some good food and beers

Maybe I can get my 100 gallon smoker finished and pack it with ribs...

Of course you can just come out and lounge as well.

I'm new to all this and would be really interested in meeting others in western WA. I monitor this thread for updates on timing. I've have my first hammock on order which I should have around the middle of May.

After talking with my usual hangers I am thinking the weekend of May 20-22nd is the date.

Although this is setup to be a improve the hanging area weekend there is no requirements, you are just as welcome to come out and lounge in the woods. I will pick up quite a bit of food and beverages, and will have some improvements to the fire circle done by then. I will post up detailed directions later tonight.

I saw this post and thought it would be a great way to meet some of the hammock campers in the area. Alas, I already have a commitment that weekend in Fortuna, CA with a bunch of hooligans on motorcycles.

Thank you. I will do my best to avoid the cages. I will be sure to check the Western thread regularly for any upcoming WA hangs.

Directions:

GPS COORDINATES: N47 14.592 W124 12.562

To make directions easier for MOST drivers.
Take your best route to HWY 12 West

Follow Hwy 12 West till your in Aberdeen and it becomes 101N

Follow the signs and stay on 101N through Aberdeen and Hoquiam.
(You will see 2 signs saying 109 don't take them, unless you really like driving down the coast and going slow) Stay on 101N

You will see this sign

And turn here

Follow that road for 20 miles till you hit a stop sign

Take a Right on 109 and drive 3 miles to mile marker 32

Notice the car.. that is the turn off.
Gate will be unlocked just open it and drive in.
Take the 2nd right and go down the hill, property is on the right.

I'd like to attend. Just need to see how the work schedule develops so it may just be one night. No experience, but I like paying it forward so happy to work.
