I've brought this subject up before but never followed thru with it, yet.

Then today I see almost exactly what I want my bug net to end up being converted to.
http://www.mountainlaureldesigns.com...products_id=55
the problem with it is that it's too short for hammocks.
(which is only one of it's problems)
I have both an eno guardian bugnet and a warbonnet bugnet, one of them is going to be used for the conversion. I'm leaning towards the warbonnet one presently.
I know, I know, just why do I want to go to the ground when I already have two hammocks? Well I've got this trip planned, and wouldn't you know it, not a single tree for 350 miles! where you say? the entire texas coast line, that kind of explains it huh? nothing but sea and sand ..... I want to kayak the texas ICW and camp along the way ........ using the bug bivy and a tarp (I got a speer swt and bb superfly), and I'll bring along a hammock, just incase.
Now the snag, I don't yet got myself a thread injector machine. Do I buy a cheapie walmart special for 100 bucks or look for someone's help to do this? I do have other projects that I want to do .......
features:
1) this design will have to be a bug net for hammock camping and a bug bivy for ground camping. I can go anywhere and be covered!
2) in another post it showed a bug net with a floor. could be a nice feature to have to store you gear to keep it out of the elements and to keep out the bugs and other wildlife. If I made it tall enough this could work out.

3) horz zipper on one side, vert zipper on the other. I like them both and it's nice to be able to get out on either side depending on .....
4) end zippers possibly? at least one side. If the tarp is pitched tight to the ground, then going in the end is the way to go......
