i use dutch's zing-it for the ridgeline and regular zing it for guyline. the glow never glows that well for me, and i may upgrade to 7/64 amsteel for the tarp ridgeline just because it's easier to use when its cold out. the tiny zing-it line works great unless your fingers are frozen, then you're doomed to a flappy tarp and that's lame.

    I use 1.75mm zing it.

Light, and I'll never have to worry about it breaking. I'd be surprised if it did.

That spectra line is nylon core? I wanna check that out, the flat braided spectra is pretty neat, didnt know they made a solid core too

On my hex tarp I am using 1.75mm Zing-It w/the small Al Figure-9's for the ridge line, and the Nite-Ize glow cord for the pullouts that hold a tautline hitch very well. 1.75mm all the way around with light Ti tensioning devices would be great, but I can't pull the trigger on the initial investment.

My winter tarp that I just built has the same 1.75mm ridge line setup, but I'm using non-reflective 2mm utility cord on the pull outs which also holds a tautline hitch - held up great in a strong thunderstorm earlier this week.

If you just plan on using simple knots or linelocs then I'd recommend something like Glowire or dyneema due to its larger diameter and ease of use. If using Dutch Bling you'd be better off using Zing It or Lash It which is what I currently use.

Also tarred bank line or braided mason line can be used.
+1 on this. Watch some videos on different setups on YouTube and decide what looks best to you. There will still not be a best line for any particular rigging, but it will narrow the search.

Personally, I found the yellow/green zline with the triangle line locks best for tie outs and like others use lash it for the ridgline. Lash it on the tie outs tangled too easily for my taste.

On reflective cord I find that I really only trip (too often) while walking around the tarp during setup in the daylight. The bright zline alliviates this as good as anything.
