I like the pocket idea - I usually wind up hooking the "bottom" CL to the drawstring cord by my carabiner, but the pocket idea is much cleaner. It would be especially helpful for my tarp's bishop bag. Nice tutorial. Your buttonhole ability exceeds mine (I use a piece of grosgrain reinforcement primarily because my sewing machines eats ripstop when zigzagging).

This is great! I have recently converted to cinch buckles and have had an issue with where/how to stow the straps that will keep them easy to deploy. That pocket idea gives me a perfect place to put my straps and keep them handy.
