North Manitou

Would anyone happen to have any GPS coordinants or .gpx files for N Manitou that they would be willing to share? I'm heading up there for the 1st time in June and want to make sure we don't miss the must see sites.

I have been up there many times. You have my curiosity . I like heading left from the docks and camping on the east side near the cemetery. It's always very quiet over there with an awesome beach. Not a long hike, not that I mind. Years past the big field was nice, but they moved the camping further inland off the bluffs. I try to adhere to the rules. Last time up there no rangers were on the island and the old ranger who now volunteers was trying to enforce rules by writing tickets, but he is getting older and I fear unable to get out too far. There are always those who ruin it for others by not following along.

That's too bad. I've become a grumpy old man (GET OFF MY LAWN!) over the past couple years due to people going WAY beyond the rules everywhere I hike. I've never been to Manitou, but would like to try sometime. I almost hate hiking the NCT-MRT loop now since d-bags are always hanging literally 5' from the river. Simplest rule, just follow it!
