Because most people seem to end up getting a UQ in the end, the NX seems mostly pointless. The TX will deal with the UQ just as well, and will be cooler in the summer.

that said, the pockets do give the ability to risk not taking a UQ at all. (and I have an NX 250 as my primary solo tent)

I've taken my NX-270 out for a few hangs now and think its great. The only thing I think it's missing is a ridgeline. The pockets can be tricky when trying to fish out a flashlight or other smaller items. Ridgelines also come in handy for eye glasses, but overall, I'm very happy with the purchase.

I'd like a few more or larger pockets up by the head. Ones big enough for both a cell phone *and* headlamp, glasses, etc. In the meantime I can make something and use stock cord or a caregiver and lock it to the pull-handle.

Agree about larger pockets at ends. I use a 2QZQ peak bag at each end. Those, along with the big pockets, the pockets at the head end, and the stuff I hang off my tarp ridgeline provide almost enough storage places.

Its kind of funny about the trade-off. "I want more pockets but this is already heavy" some might say only to turn around and carry even heavier stuff to take the place of the missing pockets. No one ever pointed the Clark hammocks are good for gram-weenies but they are durable. I will look into the 2QZQ option. Do they just clip in with a caribiner?
(And no, no one pointed to weight but that argument seems to come up frequently)

I use a shock cord inside my NX I attach them by toggle buttons on the small loop in the hammock, also I've been using a Thermarest slacker for a U Q so far to the low 50's,works great. I to plan to get a Z liner in the future. I realize the NX is a little heavy but in my opinion it's well worth it mainly because of the weather cover.

I've had my TX-250 down to 10* last time the south froze. I was fine. In fact, I sealed it up except for the head mesh...did that to vent the condensation from my breath. It worked. Definitely recommend the TX model. Options.

I connect my peak bags with soft shackles but carabiners will do. They are good for socks/gloves.

As someone interested in the Clark TX-270 or NX-270, this thread is interesting. There are no real plans to camp in the winter, but being in Minnesota and using this in the Spring where lows could be in the 40s and fall, where it's down in the 30s, would the TX-270 be the right balance? I reckon there could be some mid-summer trips with the family so we're talking in the 60s or 70s depending on the humidty.

Also, for those that bought one, did you go with their rainfly or is there something better in your expert opinions? I get the impression that we can upgrade the suspension to some Dutch products? I'm 5'11 and 250lb and want some security when hanging (not to mention the right trees!).

    Thanks.
