Stuff he hammock in the sack; leave the straps dangling. Then wrap the straps around the whole bundle in opposite directions and clip the 'biners together.Quick, easy, clean...

    This. Exactly this.

Why I never thought of this is beyond me. If I ever get into a very wet or sappy situation, I will do this. Good idea.

I use a Dutchable Clip at the tree and do not remove the straps from the buckles because I am afraid that to do so would set me up for accidentally forgetting a strap at some point and walking off without it.I do have a double ended bag for the hammock and wrap around the outside with the straps.Have not encountered sap. There's a lot of trees to chose from here and I have a trash bag that will hold everything if wet or nasty gets to the straps.

I have done a few of these and wasn't super satisfied with them. I used to wrap the straps around the bag, but they usually ended up sliding off.

I have slid them into the stuff sack and it was ok, but may have been liked less because of the size of the stuff sack. I'm thinking about trying to integrate an additional draw string on each side of the double ended stuff sack, that would allow me to close up the hammock and then have a space for the straps while keeping them separate.

Love all the input folks. Thank you much.
Look up before you hook up!!

When I just had cinch buckles, they usually went in the stuff sack with everything else, and yes sometimes it did get a little rough getting all that in there (long straps, xlc, tie outs). Then I started just wrapping the straps around the outside, so much easier, and cleaner.

Now I have a set of dutch cinch bugs, and dutch whoopie hooks, each live in a sap bag from AHE. Grab a hammock, grab a suspension and go. If you have a few hammocks (and if you don't now, you will) it is a lot cheaper than having a set for each.

My cinch buckles have whoopie hooks on them to attach to the hammock. I prefer my suspension separate from my hammock. I unhook them from the hammock, roll them up and put in a small stuff sack that I usually carry easily accessible in case it is raining. I can put up the tarp and hammock suspension and then be dry under the tarp hooking my hammock into the whoopie hooks.
