When is a short 45 degree quilt your preference?

How many of you use the short Warmer UQ in summer?

How many months do you get to use it and what temps do you not use it because it's too low or need a little more coverage?

I just got a WL Sunner Series UQ and I know it will be great for those hot months. Curious when others need more and switch to a larger 20 degree or 30 degree.

I've got a 20˚ Phoenix that I tend to use whenever the temps are higher than 32˚. If it's really going to be around freezing I might consider using something under my legs, but otherwise paired with a 20˚ TQ I don't normally supplement with something under my legs.

30˚ forecast temps and lower I'll probably bring my 0˚ full-custom-length, even when hiking in. I like to have at least a 10˚ buffer below the forecast temps.

I can drop to a 30L pack in summer and I owe it to summer weight quilts.

I think that is the rating. I get about 3 months in Colorado using this UQ with the WL summer TQ.
They both pack quite small and by just adding silk Cabelas long johns and a stocking cap i can extends their use.

Here in NJ, I get about three months out of my HG Phoenix 40*. The temps need to be 50* or above for me to deploy it since I like a 10* cushion.

Thanks for the info. Looks like hoping id get 5 months out of the 45 degree set was a little exaggerated.

I had to vent my 20 degree TQ a little more than inward wanting at 42-44 low weekend so maybe I'll need a 20 degree TQ at some point.

If nighttime lows are 40 plus, then I'll use my Phoenix 40 and Revelation 40. Last year I started using my 40/40 set the end of April all the way through mid October here in Michigan. After that, I switched out to different combos of my Rev 20 TQ and Greylock 3 & 4.

Outaback referenced using a 30 liter pack for summer gear. Hats off to you! Summer weight insulation is super light. I'm happy getting everything in the Flash 45, but I am working on my gram weenie degree.
