Canadian Tire has this
http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/wi...l#.VwLt5nq2FEk
Is a weak solution of permethrin at .25% and may not even be sold in Ontario or other places with Pesticide restrictions

Also in Ontario....(with pesticide ban....)
Permathrin is available at most farm supply, or feed stores, without a license to buy.
I bought some last summer from a local feed store in .5% concentration, same strength as the Sawyer spray. Used to spray directly on horses etc. to repel flies, so ask for that. Stronger formula's are also available, (sprayed on barn walls etc), which is maybe when you need a license. Only downside is the stuff I bought smells like those citronella candles, which probably does nothing, but smell bad.
Anything sprayed directly on an animal will probably be .5%, but I've seen some liquids with much higher concentrate. Not sure if they would be considered safe on animals, or intended for another use. Were in the locked glass displays, so maybe license required?.
Check all ingredients though, cause 'safe' for a horse, does not equal safe for me. Permathrin is the effective ingredient though, so likely nothing else of concern.... but check anyway!

Just a side note. Permethrin is NOT intended as a topical spray. It is recommended to apply to shirts, pants, socks when not being worn and allow to dry. Application lasts a while, at least through a camping outing. I also spray down my hammock with it.

Hanging in the woods, paddlin and catching trout- My kind of living...
Thanks for making that point....
I didn't intend to imply it could be used topically, but I see how the my previous post could possibly cause some confusion for someone not familiar with it...
Actually, it seems that permethrin is available as an over-the-counter topical cream or lotion, at least in the US.

Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor, wouldn't apply permethrin to myself topically, and clearly what we buy was not intended for this application.

REI sells it. https://www.rei.com/product/751264/s...mp-spray-12-oz But it is a very weak mix. Best to get the concentrate from Amazon and mix it yourself.
Thx everyone! I will try with amazon, I will also take a look at the one at Canadian tire, not sure if this stuff will really work on clothes...
