    Canada permethrin ?

    Hi !

Any Canadian here using permethrin ? It's not sold anywhere here but I can find it online on Amazon.ca. My question is, will it really be shipped here or customs will hold it ?

Had a hard time finding any locally a few years ago. It might not get through customs.

No. I gave up looking into it and just continue doing what I've always done which is whenever possible avoid camping in the bug months and use a lot of deet the rest of the time.

I find it amazing that they won't sell you Permethrin which is totally safe except to cats in its liquid form (safe when dry) and will sell you Deet which I avoid at all costs. I'm not keen on putting anything on my skin that melts plastic.
I spray my socks, pants, shirt and hammock with permethrin. Don't spray your underware. You are suppose to keep it away from membranes ie your nose eyes and your junk.

Have you tried Tractor Supply Company, or other farm supply stores?

Whatever you do, think twice about using dihydrogen monoxide.

As an Ontario dweller, I could only find permethrin in agricultural supplies stores — and a pesticide permit is required. ****!
I am trying to get a friend from below the border to bring me some Sawyer spray permethrin from their local REI. I believe they've brought stuff through the border before.
Our Canadian military use it. Our veterinarians use it. Dermatologists use it for humans. It's of proven value for dealing with the ticks that spread Lyme Disease — which is spreading quickly. But we can't buy it.
I'm in the process of haranguing my Member of Parliament. Perhaps if we all do that …

Kills more people and destroys more property every year than any other known chemical.

Very dangerous stuff! Once knew a guy that kept a giant vat of it in his yard where unsuspecting family and friends might actually swim in it....he even encouraged the kids to jump in. What a sicko!
