I'm 5'5" and I'm so-so on the Knotty mod. I hated the flapping fabric on my super wide hammock so I added DIY Knotty mods. I like the foot end one. The head end one got rid of the extra fabric, but replaced it with a high wall of fabric. Didn't care for that either. Getting the perfect tension on the shock cord to keep the fabric out of my face, but without the wall effect took some tweaking. If I were to get another wide hammock I'd probably get the Knotty mods just to have the option of adjustability.

I'm 5'9" and my camping hammock is 120" long with no knotty mods. I've always thought it was just fine, until now. All this talk about 11' hammocks and knotty mods makes me want to buy another hammock...

5'-10"ish. My one traditional gathered end (BIAS WWM 11'x60") has dual knotty mods and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I'm 5'9" and have a foot and head knotty mod on a Dutch 11' and I like it. Makes my hammock feel more like a cocoon and I think helps my poncho liner stay in place under me.

I put elastic on the edge of my hammock instead of a knotty mod a couple months ago and was pretty sure I liked it. Well I just got a Dutch 11' with no knotty and now I know for sure, But I can't decide whether to try a classic knotty or just put elastic on this one too. I really liked the trought effect of the elastic and in the several moths I had it on the old tribal provitions hammock I never wanted to slack the edge for any reason.
