VIDEO: Hammock Camping the Fiery Gizzard Trail in Tennessee

Flatbill and myself go overnight backpacking on the Fiery Gizzard Trail in Tennessee. We had a blast and saw some great views. Hope you enjoy the video.

Flatbill should have his video up soon from his point of view. Be sure to check it out. Gadget out!

Thanks for sharing. I have a couple of questions if I may. I couldn't locate the Small Wilds Campsite on Google Maps to save my life. Where is it? So did you guys end up just hiking the one way and catch a ride back to the trail head? Are there services that do this in that area? Thanks again for sharing. It's now on my to do list.

Hey. I don't think Small Wilds Campsite came up on Google maps when we were out there. Its 10.3 miles from Tracy City,TN trailhead or 2.2 miles from Foster Falls trailhead. We had planned on hiking it back but that would have been over a 15 mile day so we ended up catching a ride from a very nice person from the Foster Falls trailhead back to the Tracy City trailhead. I hear there are shuttle services though. With Raven Point Campground being closed it really made planning difficult.

Here are some great links for the trail:

I printed this trail description with mileage:

Really enjoyed the video. I did the Fiery Gizzard Trail and camped up at Raven's Point before they closed it a year or so ago. Yes, it is a great trail. I really liked the shots/videos you got down at Foster Falls. Thanks for taking us along.

Daniel Boone supposedly burned his tongue on a turkey gizzard while camped in the area, or something like that.
