Subd because i have the same problemnis
Sometimes with new amsteel, zingit, lashit there is a coating on rope that is slick. You can move prusik from side to side on ridgeline to wear off coating. If you do this too fast the rope might overheat damaging the rope and you hand. Once the rope is "broken in" there is less slick coating.
Add more wraps to prusik--instead of three wraps--go four, five or six wraps. And carefully dress prusik making it neat--with no crossed coils while tightening before loading.
And if rope diameter of prusik is smaller than ridgeline rope diameter then prusik grip is better.
And (experimentally) the ridge line can encircle prusik with an overhand knot. I think a Hammock Forum member came up with that--was his trail name fwbutler?
Good luck!!

Prussic knots in zing it and lash it take 4 wraps to properly grip. It has a polyurethane coating that will take a few slides back and forth to wear off.

If it's just for your ridgeline, and the tension will only be in one direction, a klemheist will probably grip better for you. That's been my experience, anyway.

... just a heads up if you haven't figured it out, it's spelled prusik, I think after some guys last name. Procic was a new one, took me a moment to figure that one out.
edit: yup, just double checked myself.

Is it just me, or is some Zing It from some suppliers slicker than others? I have some from Warbonnet that is still slick after three years, and some from Dutch that I bought this year that is much more "supple".

I have Dynaglide, is there a difference in the slickness? Will a prussik still work with DG?
