    Janome 1600p-qc owners?

Someone on the forum had under consideration for purchase, a Janome 1600P-QC straight stitch sewing machine. Will that someone or anyone else with some time on this machine please enlighten me with your opinion(s)?

Other questions: For times when I need to hold my work together, will it stitch backwards without holding down the "reverse" key? Does it ever form birdsnests underneath? Has everything continued to function as when new?

    Thanks!

I have one. Been using it for over a year now. I have never had a birds nest of thread in the bobbin casing.

It handles heavy nylon and polyester thread.

The bobbin winder is great (separate motor).

Fast machine. To reverse you need to hold the reverse down. Never had an issue myself with that.

I use this machine daily and it hasn't failed me once. Keep it oiled and change the needles often.

Handles sil-fabrics well all the way up to stitching straps.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks, J. The time shall arrive shortly when my non-smoking, non-beer, no-eating-out $ will have accumulated to treat myself to a better life. I want what this machine has, including the needle up/down and the knee lift.
