2009 my first hammocking year, so I'll keep it simple...

    WB Blackbird.

Everything else has just added to it. Lots of cool gear, but the hammock---that really changed things--- and, introduced me to a forum full of good people.

    Thank you, Hammock.

Hennesy hammock (asym model with underpad) worked great on my hike around Lake Michigan.

Welcome to the forum, LakeTrek! Interesting idea for your site, too - I think a hike around the lake would be a good learning experience, and an effective way to educate people about the area.
“Republics are created by the virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens. They fall when the wise are banished from the public councils because they dare to be honest, and the profligate are rewarded because they flatter the people, in order to betray them.” ~Judge Joseph Story

Reading this thread, I had 3 things picked out to post.... but then it dawned on me that I've had my hammock for less than a year. I went into shock because I've been soooo comfortable using this hammock that I'd forgotten that there was a time that I didn't use one. My list, with my favorite first..

    my Clark Tropical Hammock
my home-made under quilts & over quilts
my home-made kilt (I flat out love wearing a kilt vs shorts or pants)
    and last my Aarn backpack

There's lots more gear I have that I flat out love but most of it I've had since those caveman days of tent camping.

PS. I love my Dutch Clips.
