    72" wide hammock

My question is , how many of you experienced hangers use 72" wide hammocks ?
It seems the normal width is 58-60".
The more experience you gain as a hanger, do you migrate to the wider 72" hammock, or is it just the opposite?
As a beginner, did you start out with a wide hammock, and then migrate to a standard width of 58-60"?

I started with a grand trunks double and got used to the wide. Also being 6'3", the width gives me good room to stretch on that diagonal. I've got a couple std widths, but I can't get comfy in them

I don't think most ever touch a 72" wide...more of a novelty than a standard at either end of the use spectrum. But hang your own hang is a popular adage around here.

...I don't know, there was a lot of buzz around Dutch's 72" wide hexon 1.6 around here when he announced it...

I personally have a Dutch wide and I like it a lot. I also have a dutch standard width hexon 1.6 and a blackbird xlc. being 6'2" i feel the 72" wide fabric helps me achieve a more comfortable lay.

I also have a Hexon wide hammock and really enjoy it.
I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.

Ditto. I'm relatively tall at 6'2" and I love my 11' hexon wide from Dutch. Easiest sweet spot to find of any hammock I've tried.

    72" wide hammock

I started out in an HH Explorer deluxe, now have two Dutch 11ft hammocks, and will be trying the new dutchware wide hammock very soon ... We'll see how it goes
No matter where you go...There you are..

I'm not even tall at 5'9"...but oooh a 68" wide is amazing.... I can roll around on my back, stomach or side like nobody's business.

I literally felt like Scrooge McDuck in DuckTales swimming around in pools of gold coins when I first laid in a 68".

I might not bring it backpacking, but it's my go to around the house or just to lounge... I made mine from Robic XL 1.0 so it barely takes up any extra space or weight.

(edit: robic xl is 68", not 72" like I originally thought and posted...but my point is still the same)

And when I say made... I just ordered 4 yards and gathered the ends to test it out... I haven't even gotten around to hemming anything... It's straight from the roll
