I have used UCRs with an 8" bury, but not overnight. Just a few naps here and there. What I have found is that when you finish with a prussik, you have to make sure the prussic is set tight and also your constrictor portion.. If you don't do this it is a gentle descent to the ground. I'm just glad it's gentle lol!

I will try them overnight next time out and report back with any issues. BTW I'm about 240ish poundage wise.

I went out last night on a solo and used the Beckett hitch with the mule tape for the first time on an overnighter. Got to say I love how simple it is not sure I'd use it if rain was expected though. Got a few systems to choose from now lol, it's good to mix it up from time to time

Finally finished my suspension on my 11' ,single width hammock.

    1 x 1.9mm dynema whoopie and 1 x 1.9 mm dynema UCR.

I shifted weight up to head end so I could sit and read and UCR snapped at start of bury.

The bury,at 150mm held well but I guess 1.9 mm just ain't strong enough to take most of my weight at one end.
Got a 3 mm whoopie on it now catching the last of today's sun.

    Yep,it was.

375kg breaking strain SK75 dynema bought from a reliable source and it snapped.
Han angle 30-35° but weight all at one end due to seated position

    Becket hitch????

No wonder I've never heard of it-its really called a SHEET BEND.

Used to join dissimilar rope sizes.

After years of doing this and lots of trying different hammocks and suspensions, I hove gone to Atlas Straps for all my hammocks. It just is too simple and fits with every hammock I have.
