That's a sock hook. Comes with your pair(s) of dress socks (yes, there are such things ). I have actually never lit the candle while it hung over me, but I think the candle is far enough away to keep the plastic hook from melting, and definitely far enough away from the ridgeline to be safe. I figured I'd keep the candle next to me, get in, and then carefully hang it up there. Like I said, I haven't had a chance to try it though. I think that with normal careful use, wax would not drip on you.

One of my favorite afternoon motorcycle rides is to go north on 66 and ride all the way around Hanging Rock. It's particularly beautiful at when the sun is low.

    Good report!

That is a beautiful drive. I bet it is especially nice on a motorcycle.

Thanks Shug! Welcome back. I enjoyed the pics of your trip with your family. Took your suggestion of a hot cocoa break. Whoo buddy that was good, and a nice hand warmer-upperer to boot.

Rice, a 6" chunk of a wire coat hanger with appropriate bends works good too. No chance of melting either. Light enough. ymmv

The best time to be at a campground is in the winter. Got to love the peace and quiet and time to mess with your gear.
