It was the usual Hidden Pond trip for us. Get out of work at 5:30 p.m. stop for dinner stop for gas arrived at Panther Island Trailhead late. We made the hike Inn faster than you usually do. Lots of grasshoppers and flying bugs attracted to our headlamps on the way in. Once we made it into camp only one hammock to be found. Heirloom was the only one there with his bike. We chose one of the Prime Wendy locations to set up our hammocks which took about a half-hour. Struggle to find a stick to throw my beer line. Some of the larger logs have been placed into the fire ring and it was nothing small to burn to even start a fire without having to search a great distance for firewood. The bugs were not too bad Friday night surprisingly. Saturday morning we will to a little bit of morning fog. Between bedtime and 7 in the morning at a drop 20 or 25 degrees overnight. I was shocked at how cool it it got an overnight. We didn't have to hide out till 2 in the afternoon we were trying to wait for grinder to show up to say hello. Unfortunately we had dinner plans Saturday night and had to leave before grinder made it. The Hideout from Hidden Pond to Pat's Island was brutal. 95 degree heat is not fun to hike in with no tree cover. If you plan a trip out there early morning or after the sun goes down.
