Just ordered some Martin's, $15 on Amazon Prime. I'll try it.

Martins Permethrin 10% does not have a strong odor nor does it contain petroleum distillates. This product is a waterbased permethrin.

I wouldn't necessary agree about the strong odor part, when wet, but that's subjective. Just let it dry and you shouldn't smell it. My very sensitive nose doesn't.
    Do you have a link
    is this it?

I finally got around to mixing up the Martins 10%. I did about 20oz to 1oz. At first I couldn't detect any odor like I was used to with the Sawyer pre-mix, but after hanging them to dry I could smell it in the garage. Trail running shoes, two t-shirts, pants, shorts, hammock and my backpack.

I went a little heavier on the spraying this time since I'm not worried about the cost and want to be sure everything is covered well. My last warm weather trip was pretty bad once it heated up. I'm heading out next weekend and I don't think it will be as hot as this same time last year.

I did my daughter's gear yesterday for her upcoming Camino hike in Spain with the Gordon's brand I picked up at Tractor Supply. Laid it on pretty heavy, like One-Click, since mixing your own is so affordable. There is a light petroleum oder when it was still damp, but this morning I checked it and couldn't smell anything, so I think it dissipates...of course, that's just my nose, other noses may pick it up. All I know is I've wasted too much money buying the ready to go stuff at wally world...MYO is the way to go!

    Do you use permethrin?

I’m jumping on the permethrin bandwagon today. Mixed up a batch of the 10% at 20:1. When these dry, I’ll hang my 2 underquilts and spray them.

Round 2 today of finally getting around to spraying my gear. I've got my backpack, hiking clothes, gaitors, netted hammock, UQP, hats, and some other bits and pieces of my summer kit. Did my hiking shoes last weekend with my daughter's gear. I don't bother with my tarp or insulation. I figure my TQ goes right in my Trail Lair hammock from my pack and the mosquitos can't sting through my UQ in my neck of the woods.

    Ready to hit the trail!
