Shipping D ring as subsititute for descending ring?

Not considering weight (these might be heavier), do you think something like this would work in a descending ring suspension setup with 1" webbing? Larkshead a pair to a contiuous loop and run the webbing/tree strap through the flat side? It seems like it would work pretty good for cheap: $.75 per d ring.

I don't think you will have a problem especially if you use a half hitch after just in case . Shouldn't have to worry about the strength . Might work alittle better since they have a flat portion.

Should work, you don't need a pair on each side (one will do fine), see my post here https://hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php/110714

Works much simpler and holds much better than a Garda hitch with 2 rings. Try it out and see what you think. I've been using this on my ENO since that post and it is rock solid.

Will definitely work, though they look kind of heavy. Slider's one ring per side solution is certainly elegant, but be aware that you do lose the ease of adjustment that is much of what is so great about having a pair per side.
