Ricketts State Park & Grand Canyon of PA

I'm just trying to collect any information that may help me on a motorcycle camping trip I have planned that will take me to Ricketts State Park and the Grand Canyon of Pa. Stuff like places to hang, good breakfast spots. Anything that might prove useful while staying at both locations. Like don't miss a nearby great scenic whatever. Thanks ahead of time for any of your comments. I'll be coming out of the Southern Adirondack NY on my way to Pennsylvania. I'm trip planning now. Trip is coming up fast, not as much time to prepare as I would like

It's been a while since I've been to Ricketts Glen, but the main hike hits all the waterfalls that you can see in the park.

If you hike the trail, you can start at the top or bottom of the falls area. You hike up or down one side, and thenjoy the opposite direction on the other side of the creek. It's not exactly challenging, but is quite a bit of elevation change. It's a scenic trail that follows the creek very close, so you're always in view of the water, and because there's so many waterfalls, you're often within a few feet of them at any given time.

Every day is a good day.

My wife and I hiked the West Rim trail of the PA Grand Canyon 3 years ago, and it was pretty amazing. That's 30 miles, though, but if you're not planning to backpack, you can still hit some of the vistas. There's a drive-in on both the east and the west side, I believe. There's a nice little store in the Wellsboro area called Pine Creek Outfitters, you can rent kayaks/canoes from them to paddle the creek. There's also a pretty cool outfitter in downtown Wellsboro called Wild Asaph Outfitters, but that's just a retailer.

Also, you wouldn't be TOO far from Kinzua Bridge State Park, which may be worth checking out.

    Enjoy the trip!

I also hike the West Rim Trail, use my WBBB. You can hike in from the Ansonia side (North) for a just a couple of miles and there are awesome overlooks to hang at. There are also places to park and just get to the overlooks, and from there you can walk to a nice place without the short hike. You can google the West Rim Trail for more info. I've already hiked it 2 times this year (the 30 miles) so if you have any other questions please ask

Edit: From the Northern terminus of the west rim trail, drive up Colton Road to the Barbour Rock Handicap Accessible trail, then just a couple of hundred yards to the overlook. You can camp right by the Rim, just follow the WRT a ways. Also Bradley Wales Picnic Area would be a great place to drive your bike to. It is only a couple hundred yards to the West Rim Trail and AWESOME overlooks and places to hang from. There is a road that leads to the picnic area, but I am hiking so don't know how to get there by road, From my map it looks like Leetonia Road to Bradley Wales Road.

For additional information (maybe the map of the WRT) contact

I hiked the trail with Perrito back in 2012. Can't add much on motorcycle camping.

Rickets Glen can get pretty busy and crowded on the weekends. If you could plan that portion of the trip during a weekday the hike along the falls will be more enjoyable. I camped at the state park campground there and I hung a hammock without any issues. There are a number of spots with hangable trees.

Thank you all for your responses, I started my planning late and have been busy getting last minute stuff done to my bike. I'm not taking my dual sport this time. Taking my 650 scooter. My trip is mostly riding. I want to do day hikes for the two days I'll be in the PA area.
