    Snoring

I don't snore at home, I sleep half side half stomach but in my WBBB I sleep on my back. The last time out in the woods it was 23* and I think I woke up every thing for a mile around. My buddy was 100' away in a tent and could not sleep because of my snoring. And my throat was so sore I couldn't talk until after my first cup of Irish cream and coffee! Anyone else only snore while sleeping in a hammock?

I too don't snore in a bed but I do in my hammock.
I dont have a solution but I wonder if the dry, cold winter air had more to do with your sore throat than snoring...just guessing

That's the surest sign of a good hammock. At MAHHA this year, the woods were positively echoing with the sound of hammockers sawing wood in their sleep.

ask dameon to post the recording of me snoring when we were at congaree np.

I just accept it as something that happens. I try to sleep on my side so it doesn't happen, but at some point, I'm going to roll over on my back.

It's all about bear protection ...

I have never ... ever been attacked in my sleep by bears! THEREFORE snoring is necessary for protection from bear attacks!

I rest my case ... no matter what my wife says!

I always wondered if the bears would think I was competition in their territory.. I know deer won't come around, nothing stops raccoons..

I snore.. Sorry man, but there's nothing I can do about it.

I occasionally have to go to trade shows each year and because of the cost of rooms in all downtown major metropolis during trade time, we have to share rooms.

It's one thing to snore when you are with your wife, spouse, or significant other, but to have to be in the same 15 x 10' room with someone that you are just familiar with.. and add to that the taking customers out with the alcohol add-on .. Well lets just say that my room mate, whoever that may be, doesn't get much sleep.

I sleep like a baby though..

When I first started camping with the Scouts, I found that I had the hardest time staying asleep when other people were snoring. Now, I only wake up when everything gets too quiet. Not sure why...it only happens when I am with a larger group.

So I'll agree with Hawk-eye...there has to be an advantage to snoring...protection from bears and other critters sounds good.
