Unfair testing with your kids, all that blue hair won't give an accurate temp. rating.
Good luck, your a brave man, hope you have a "plan B", if they do get cold.

Ambulo tua ambulo.
AnimalControl, you miss nothing on the technical side, other than two points.
The Warm Thing needs only one side faced. That's the red fabric. The Wiggys Window Covering is faced and quilted already. The labor is small.
The other thing is the unkown... Insultex. Will this minimal bit of insulation do the job? Who knows?
Gargoyle, Plan B is to put pads under the Things. They have plenty of top insulation.

What am I missing? (again, no sarcasm)[/QUOTE]
Actually, this could be an interesting exercise. Climashield is great stuff with some excellent qualities, but compared to Wiggy's insulation, durability isn't one of them. If Wiggy's window covering is made from the same stuff as his bags/poncho liners, this could be a good test of how an insulation that can stand up to abuse delivers in other areas. (Full disclosure: My knowledge of Wiggy's insulation is second hand, but every source I've ever seen or heard has agreed that although heavy and bulky compared to others, it is totally bomb proof.)

Lamilite is the same stuff as in Wiggy's bags, etc.Originally Posted by Wiggy's

Good point
Like with most insulation, there is give and take. Climashield isn't anywhere near as durable as Wiggy's stuff. Of course, a 5 oz Climashield UQ is a heck of a lot lighter than this Warm Thing Quilt (2.2 lbs - most of which is the WWC, I think)
It all depends on your priorities
