me, my bike, my hammock and 25 days

Can't wait: I'm Heading out solo from far north Indiana to SE FL, LA, Austin, etc...

I "just" ordered some pyrethrin to spray my WBB dbl layer, BUT..

I only have a 0 degree UQ and a 20 TQ. I am thinking my UQ and a sheet? (The month of June) what do ya think?

Just no interstate. Like sr 23 and 37 in Indiana 231 down whatever is KINDA by 10 over to TX just older state roads? Gonna camp in free ntl forests and such. I have some friends in fl and mom in tx.. Weird cause when I primitive up north, not to fearful of beArs or wolves. But never did a swampy area so I'm more scared of snakes and gaiters! Prob cause I am so unfamiliar huh!!?? I'm working on my transpo now! I'm SO ready!! Will I sweat in my gear? Should I even BRING my top Q?

Underquilt and sheet should be fine. A light pullover and beanie will do you fine for extra warmth. I always cary an emergency blanket keep it close by and don't be afraid to use it. Maybe a 20° underquilt if you have it would be plenty.

Keep an eye on you elevation. Temps will be cooler at elevation.

I'd like to see some pics of your rig once you have it packed up.

Have a safe trip. I leave for 30 days to AK in two weeks. Same deal, Hammock camping all the way.

My set up is the same as yours. But I am heading north and you south. Sound like you should be fine. Just vent the UQ and a sheet for the hot nights is I what I was thinking.

    Here is my set up.

I have an lightweight sleeping bag from Walmart that I take when I am worried about stuff like that. It stuffs into a sack the size of a football and since it is a cheap bag I don't really worry about it.

Great idea! I wonder if I can just put something light between my layers (WBB double) like some fleece or something it'd save me a little packing room too. Im thinking I should leave both my 0* UQ and 20* TQ home huh!

You don't have to worry about snakes and gators. Just watch where you step at and you'll be fine. What you really have to worry about down here are the mosquitos. They're not really bad just yet but deep in a swampy wooded area they probably are or will be soon. You'll be fine with a bug net at night but whenever you are not in your hammock they will eat you alive standing around camp. Bring some bug spray.
