For those who expressed interest in a January 2010 hangout in the Uwharrie National Forest in NC, I just wanted to get some feedback about possible dates.
I was going to use this hangout as a shakedown hangout for gear that I'm going to take to Mt. Rogers at the end of January. In that light, the sooner the better in my opinion, more time to tweak!
Please pick all dates you'd be able to go.

15-17 is flat out not doable for me, I've already got a Scout camping trip
The other two weekends are still open for me.
Do you have any plans yet on where the camp site will be?? The whole weekend? Arriving Friday?? Where to park???
I'm hoping to find an appropriate site. I've only been there once before myself, and it was years ago. Anyone with prior knowledge of the area willing to give out some info? I'll most likely stay the weekend, arriving Friday and leaving Sunday.
Maybe we could all bring something for a Saturday night shared dinner. I have no preconceived ideas, just wanting to go hang out in the piney woods.

I'd be interested, I'll have to check when I have a scout trip for that month. I've never camped at Uhharrie but I have a friend thats been there quite a few times I'll see if he has any info.
I'm less than 5 hours away and would enjoy meeting some of you. Can't make Mt Rodgers because of a wedding but my January is wide open.
I am hesitant to vote because I already have the Southern Ruck the 15th - 17th and then Mt. Rogers. Don't think I need to plan another trip for January. Y'all have fun though and if you plan it for the 8th or 22nd I just might see you there.
I think I can make it on any Jan weekend, 8, 15, 22. I'd like to get Thing1 into the woods one more time with the pack she will take to Mt. Rogers.
Re: sites... my experience is that sites are everywhere in the UWharries, both on and off the trail. There are no restrictions about where you can camp in the Natl Froest.
