    Double whoopie hooks FTW

I made some dutch style double whoopie hooks and a spreader bar. Got the first opportunity to use it over the weekend. Wife and I hung side by side and were super comfy. Don't think we will be hanging any other way, if we can help it.

Nice rig! I have the Dutch double hooks for my boys and they hang side by side in Scout trips, it's a great way to go!

Looking good. Have any close up pics and details on your diy spreader bar?

I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.

I don't, off hand, but I can get some close ups and dimensions of it tomorrow. The spreader is in my truck and the wife took it today I just found some 1/2" aluminum thin wall tubing at work, I cut it to an eyeballed "about right" length and then made some press in stainless steel end caps with 3/16" Dia studs to go into the hooks. As it isn't collapsible, I wanted it to be packable so it's probably fairly short compared to some others. Perhaps 2 1/2 feet. There is very little fit and finish to it, as it was kind of a rush job. I thought about painting it but it would get scratched amd dinged, then I thought about anodizing it, but one piece is too expensive to justify, so it'll stay mill finish. Here is a pic of the hooks I made. They were run on a water jet and then tumbled for a while. This one hasn't been put in service, but when I set them up on slings I will grind rounded edges where the ropes interface with it. And they are 3/16" stainless

Spreader bar is 26.75 inches overall, 1/2" OD .050" wall thickness. Tips the scales at 3.3 oz.

I've found plasma to make too ugly of a cut. Water jet, laser, or wire edm imo.
