    National Forest near Monticello Ga

What can be said about the National Forest land around Monticello/Lake Sinclair? The wife and I prefer the more private, relaxed dispersed camping do they allow that there, how are the road systems setup and how is the fishing?

There are forest service roads all over the place around there. Quite popular with the locals for off-roading. A forest service road map can be obtained on the forest service website (http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_...eprd474944.pdf). Be warned that once deer season opens up, the woods in that area will be COVERED with hunters. Some of them tend to think the end of the forest service road is their own personal hunting camp.

So basically it's covered up with hoodlums then. Will it be bad during the weekends coming up? Thinking about a trip in the next weekend or so fishing and hanging around.

No hunters to worry about right now, but you may run into some folks off-roading. Stock up on permethrin. I live about an hour north and ticks are HORRIBLE this year.

If I were you, I would head a little further north into the Chattahoochie Nat. Forest. The temps should be a little cooler. There are numerous options near the city of Clayton that I tend to visit due to being closer to home.

Where ever you end up, have fun and share some pics.

No, not hoodlums...hunters that are exercising their rights to hunt. In fact those national forest probably would not be there and certainly no WMAs would be there if it weren't for hunters. Until last year, only hunters had to pay to be there, nobody else was paying for the right to be there.

I hunt pretty heavily myself but there is still a difference in a hunter and hoodlum.

Folks, Please bring the conversation off the hunting and the hoodlums (No matter which you call them) and get it back on hammocks. Thank you.
