    MOUNTAIN GOAT Custom Tarp Sleeves

I've used Mountain Goat's noseeum tarp sleeves before, but when I got my latest tarp, I decided to go with some cuben sleeves instead to try to save a gram or two.

The cuben worked fine in and of itself, but I found that it was a pain in my rump to try to dry the cuben sleve itself after it carried a wet tarp, and wound up smelling funky and imparting a funky smell to the tarp. That's a deal breaker for me, since I've got a pretty sensitive nose. The mesh sleeves don't particularaly make the tarp dry any better, but when I do get to have my drying party, the sleeves themselves don't hold any water.

So, I wrote Kat and asked if she could make a thinner set of sleeves, custom to the tarp, also with cord pockets on only one sleeve, since it's for a lightweight summer tarp. They arrived in the mail a few days later, fit perfectly, and wound up weighing a gram less than the cuben.

    Once again, great product, Kat!

I ordered some cuben sleeves and they have yet to arrive. Starting to have buyers remorse, now. That sounds like a very good point! Maybe I can come up with a way to keep them open for drying...

Can't go wrong with Mountain Goat snake skins! I really like the ability to set up the tarp but not deploy it unless it's needed.

I have a couple sets from her, I wouldn't go without them. I just stuff the whole tarp and sleeve down in the backpack (if the tarp is dry.)

I have purchased 3 sets of these sleeves so far. If I ever have need of an additional tarp, it will undoubtedly get Mountain Goat sleeves to match.

I have the same issue with the Cuban fiber sleeve. Difficult to dry. When I upgraded my tarp to the Cuban fiber. I pulled the mountain goat sleeves off the old Superfly and my son inherited the Superfly with the Cuban fiber sleeve.

I'll be ordering him a mountain goat as he gets more and do backpacking
