    New England and Maine

Are there any beautiful places to hang on the rocky coast of New England and Maine which dramatically overlook the ocean?

The place I immediately think of is the "Wilderness" camping area at the Ocean Wood Campground, in Birch Harbor, Maine. Many spots, with trees, on a 30' cliff right on the ocean. I stayed at that campground in the RV section in both May and September for twenty years. Camping only in the Wilderness section and no radios permitted. The family that runs the whole thing is committed to keeping it a peaceful environment. The whole area of the surrounding peninsula is incredibly beautiful.

i think i read somewhere in backpacker magazine about a ocean view campsite that you can get to from the ferry. its an island somewhere but the name eludes me right now... i was planning on heading out there at the first sign of warmth next year.

All of this sounds awesome except the part about waiting for warmth!

    Panzy!
