    Permethrin

    • What concentration do you use?
    • How often do you need to spray it on a hammock?
    • What size of bottle would you recommend buying?
    • Any brands in particular? I'm planning on buying it online, and some look topical or for plants rather than hammocks.

Has anyone used Bonide 857 Pyrethrin Spray Concentrate?
    What about this one?

You want one without PDs (Petroleum Distillates), such as http://www.amazon.com/CONTROL-SOLUTI...TE-Permethrin/.
PDs cause respiratory issues. Just google it

That link seems to be broken. Do you have another one?

Are there any Canadians that use this? It seems to be really tough to find one here.

I haven't been keeping up with this thread, but it's bound to have some answers for you

I treat mine about every 6-8 weeks (give or take)

    What about Coleman's?

It doesn't seem to say anything about Petroleum Distillates, so I assume I'll be safe?

It's only 5% though, so I'm not sure if it will be effective. Thoughts?

I've used Martins and the Sawyer brand and both work. The Martins you have to dilute to .05% (IIRC) so it goes a LONG ways. The Sawyer that I tried was premixed and ready to go.

    I use this. http://www.amazon.com/36-8-Permethri.../dp/B003IMO3I2

Dilute 2oz to a gallon of water in a pump sprayer. Makes .5 percent. Spray or soak. Check the thread bog01 mentioned.

I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.

    Make that 0.5%, not .05%.

Looking at the photo (when enlarged) it says that it contains Petroleum Distillates. I thought that was not recommended.
