Hikingshoes and myself will be holding a group hang on the weekend of January 1 - January 3, 2010.

I'll be bringing some firewood, extra is welcome. You're responsible for your own meals. The camp ground is equipped with vault toilets and a hand-pump for water.

There are a few areas nearby for day-hikes if anyone wants to spend some time on flat trail through coastal hardwood and pine forest. Hunting season will have ended on Jan 1, but the blaze orange might not be a bad idea.

Doesn't appear to be much interest in this.

Would you folks in the eastern half of SC rather go somewhere else? Name a place. I'm sure hikingshoes and myself are flexible.

If anyone else is coming to this, please let me know.

I've come down with a nasty sore throat and congestion, so I may need to reschedule. If it's just going to be Hikingshoes and myself, that's probably not a big deal. If others are coming, I don't want to inconvenience them by telling them I'll bring firewood, etc and then not show up.

Okay,

I'm starting to feel better. Hopefully, I'll be back up to about 85% before friday. I'll be heading out to the camp site around 2:00pm friday afternoon. I'm bringing firewood, a grill grate to rest pans or pots on and a cast iron skillet.

Bring your own food and drink and a means to cook it.

Hope some folks show up.

Don't know how I missed this earlier?!?!?!

Unfortunately for me we are doing the family thing this weekend...inlaws (nuff said)

Will be cooking up a big Beaufort Stew (aka Low Country Boil, Frogmore Stew, etc) so will think of you guys!

I didnt really expect many to show up. Hopefully, Hikingshoes will be able to make it before I decide I've had enough and pack it in for home. If rain continues tomorrow, I'll probably still go because I need to test gear for the mount rogers trip, but I probably wont stay long on saturday.

We'll catch you on the flip side. Not enough cold months :/. Soon it will be hot and muggy and buggy and I'll be spending more time in the garden than the woods.
