    Whoopie Sling and rain

If you have a whoopie sling that is connected to the hammock with a larkshead, what stops rain from running down the sling into the hammock? Is the string drip line that is tied on the hammock that effective or do you need to have a continuous loop and a biner, Dutch biner, etc. to connect the sling to the loop? Tnx in advance

Usually a string is very effective, in addition to the other "water break" systems. This might help: http://theultimatehang.com/2014/05/h...nd-drip-lines/

The Tail of the adjustable loop helps to channel the water down and away.....I have never needed more than it.

I know there are many ways to hang your hammock when using whoopies or UCR's......so it's what works best for you. I use a CL with a ring on my hammock ends. I have the adjustable loop end of my whoopie toggled to my tree straps. The other end of the whoopie is toggled to the ring. The toggle is my drip-stop. The first major rain storm hang I had, I was using this arrangement and I never had any water run down and soak the hammock ends. The ring is not necessary but I like having them so my CL's don't pull thru the hole on my bishop bag.

Neither have I, with whoopies or UCR's. No need to overcomplicate things.....
