I use the Dutch CRL and love it. It makes centering the tarp so much easier.

I started with the CRL, but moved to a line on each end. I watched Derek Hansen's video on water moving along a ridgeline. My 14 year old still uses a CRL, but it's above the tarp.

    I hate continuous ridgelines.....with a passion

I find lines on each end quicker and easier to set up. Guesstimate, which gets easier the more you do it, how much line you need out when setting up the first side then tighten things up with the second side. Center the hammock under the tarp and you're done......nap time!!

CRL for me. I used the method described in the 2nd video on this page (with a stinger in place of the flyz). http://theultimatehang.com/2012/11/v...s-with-a-tarp/

Homemade CRL with a Dutch Hook and Fleaz for me. I use skins on the tarp, so I leave the CRL in place and tuck the ends into the pockets on each end. I find that the fastest and easiest. But try it each way a few times and find what works for you.

+1. This is exactly how I do it as well. CRL on top of tarp always.

I prefer to have the lines on each end. Less to tangle.
