Fathers Day camping with the girls

Had an amazing Fathers Day camping trip this weekend with my good friend Michael and our daughters!
We went up to Max Patch to watch the sunset and let the girls play on the bald. Then it was down to the woods on the northeast side to hang the hammocks. Let me tell ya, hanging hammocks with 3 girls is an adventure enough, but let the rain start falling and see how it goes... Wowzers.
We got the first tarp up, a huge tarp and let them hang there in a couple of hammocks while we set up the rest of camp.
It was not a heavy rain, but a steady rain that lasted until about 5 am. No one got wet, so it was actually very calming and peaceful. Slept like a baby.
Caught some more great views before leaving today and going to Dry Falls in Highlands NC.
This was truly a great Fathers Day weekend!

    Tired little ladies!
Thanks to Ospreydog for the hammocks, extra gear and for introducing us to Max Patch!

Looks like you had a super time. I bet they will talk about this trip for years to come. Two thumbs up for getting them out into nature like that.

Shug is correct ... they grow up way too fast.

Thanks! They do grow up fast.
You might be proud to know that my daughter let me know this morning that "her" alcohol stove was better than my jet boil because the jet boil is toooo loud! Lol. I agree and I know you do, but had too much boiling to do with one alcohol burner and many bellies to feed.

    See ya in the trail!

The photo of them sleeping in the back of the car one on top of the other is quit funny . Looks like a great fathersday.

I was thinking the same thing. Reminds me of when my buddy and I would take our daughters on backpacking trips when they were younger. After the post trail obligatory stop for ice cream and the calls home to mom, they would be out for the duration. Enjoy the time when you can....mine are 17 and 21 now but I'll always have great memories.

Funny. These girls love their ice cream too! I love making memories with them and building a strong bond!
Thanks for your comment and hope you have a great Father's Day!

Thank you for sharing, your story and photos have actually added happiness to my Father's Day (but I am a bit jealous). The opportunity to spend time with your girls in the great outdoors is truly a blessing.

For those of you fortunate enough to have children, a very sincere Happy Father's Day to you!!
