    New to Hammock Forums

Hello from South Georgia! Found this site after watching Shug on YouTube. I like camping, just don't like sleeping on the hard ground. Looks like a hammock is just the ticket!! I have a co worker that loaned me a HH to try out. Planning on a test hang this weekend (if the weather allows). Lots of great information on the site!!

Welcome to the forum Outsider! I think you'll be pleased with getting up off the ground. A HH is a great way to get a feel for the idea.

Plan on having something under you for insulation or your back will get cold - that's the first thing a new hammock camper needs to know. A close cell foam pad ($5.00 at Walmart) is the cheap solution.

Glad to have you aboard. Don't hesitate with questions - this is a great group of folks.

Shug is a pretty good vector for spreading this hammocking disease! And it's too late, you already have it! Welcome to the good life (and the forums)!

Ahh, south Georgia! I grew up around Atlanta but had relatives in Tifton and my brother went to Valdosta State College. Good memories emanate from south Georgia. Shug would love it there - truly home of the "piney woods"!
