Looking to replace the stock suspension on an Expedition with 1" poly webbing, cinch buckles, and Amsteel (mimicking the BB suspension). Just curious about the structural ridgeline since the HH usually has the suspension almost horizontal where as the BB should be around a 30* angle.
Should I be concerned about the angle of setup on the HH Exped when using webbing suspension?

You shouldn't be concerned at all.
I ran the original ropes from each end of my Exped to cinch buckles using a double larkshead, tied a stopper knot back on the rope, then cut off the excess. Webbing then runs from the cinch buckles to the trees and attaches using carabiners. No issues at all.
sounds good. When setting up, do you keep the same flat angle with the webbing as the stock HH does with the rope?

Hang it at any angle that's comfortable for you. Won't matter one bit.Originally Posted by Muskrat
I have a set of cinch buckles all ready to go onto the hammock if you're interested. Has everything except for the webbing to run to the trees. All you'd have to do is to remove the existing HH suspension rope and larkshead these in place.
Mine look like this and have never slipped.
